Any VFW member can download a reference guide that gives a complete overview of all the VFW's Programs (Community Service, Youth Scholarships and Activities and Veterans & Military Support.) These programs include the two youth scholarship/essay contests of Voice of Democracy and Patriot's Pen, the Smart/Maher Citizenship Education Teacher Award contest, Community Service reporting, Outstanding Community Service VFW Post Awards, Fred C. Hall VFW Post Special Project Award, various Recognition Award Citations, Buddy Poppy, Public Servant & Life Saving Awards, Citizenship & Flag Education, Military Assistance, Operation Uplink, Loyalty Day, Unmet Needs, Sports Clips Help A Hero Scholarship, Scouting Awards & Scout of the Year Scholarship, NRA-VFW Shooting and Air Rifle Sports and other Youth Activities.
The VFW member would log in at the VFW's main home page - www.vfw.org and then log in. Click on MY VFW in the top banner and under the Member Resources heading you would click on VFW Training and Support. Go to the Community Service & Youth Programs area. You will find all resources, brochures, score sheets, and Program-specific chairman’s manuals on this page.
The first guide to download and print will be the "VFW Programs Leadership Reference Guide" which is shown to the right hand side of the web page, and it is listed as the 7th item from the top. Download and print that guide, along with the other resources you need to conduct the various VFW Programs.
